Selling PPV is easy to start and hard to keep track of. After a few weeks you have sent the same set to dozens of fans, some bought it, some ignored it, and a few asked for a discount. If you cannot see that history while you are in a chat, you end up resending a video he already owns or pitching a price he has never paid.
This guide covers what PPV tracking means in practice, the few data points that matter, a simple manual setup, and how Content Flow does it automatically on OnlyFans. It is written by the Content Flow team, so the last part describes our own product.
What PPV tracking actually means
PPV (pay-per-view) content is a locked message or post that a fan pays to unlock. Your OnlyFans statistics tell you how much you earned from messages overall. What they do not give you is a quick answer, inside a chat, to three questions:
- What has this fan already bought? So you never offer him something he owns.
- What did he receive but not buy? Those items are your best candidates for a second, better-framed offer, or a sign that the topic does not interest him.
- At what price does he usually buy? A fan who unlocks $10 sets and ignores $40 bundles needs different offers than a fan who tips $50 without being asked.
That is per-fan tracking. It is less about total revenue and more about making the next offer fit.
The five things worth recording
- Item: the set or video, ideally with the same name you use in your vault.
- Date sent and the price you asked.
- Bought or not, and when.
- Tips around the purchase. Many fans tip instead of, or in addition to, unlocking.
- His reaction: asked for a discount, said it was too much, wanted something more specific. One line is enough.
Anything beyond this rarely changes what you do next. A tag for his buyer type (for example impulse buyer, bundle buyer, tipper, window shopper) helps you sort fans quickly.
Option 1: track PPV manually
If you have a small, active fan base, a spreadsheet works. Create one row per offer with the columns fan, item, date, price, bought (yes/no), tip and note. Add a filter on the fan column, and before you pitch something, filter for that fan.
Two habits keep it useful:
- Update right after a chat session, not at the end of the week. Purchases you do not write down soon are easy to forget.
- Use the same item names everywhere: in your vault, your sheet and your notes. "Red set" and "Red lingerie video" in two places will confuse you later.
The weakness is obvious: it depends on you copying data out of the chat, and it lives in a different window from the conversation. With more than a few dozen buyers, most creators stop updating it. Our fan CRM guide has a fuller spreadsheet template with tags.
Option 2: let the chat history do the work
Everything you would type into a spreadsheet is already in the chat: the locked messages you sent, their price, whether they were unlocked, and the tips. A tool that reads the chat can build the record for you. That is the approach Content Flow takes on OnlyFans.
How Content Flow tracks PPV per fan
- A profile per fan from his real chat. The first time you open a fan, Content Flow reads his full chat history once and saves PPV bought vs. sent (shown as, for example, 2/20), tips and spending in his profile. After that it only reads the latest messages, and the lifetime totals are kept.
- Marks in your vault. Open the vault inside a fan's chat and every item is marked: green means he already bought it, red means he received it but did not buy it.
- His price range. The profile shows the range he actually buys at and what he left unbought, and the AI uses that when it drafts a reply or a PPV text for him.
- Personal PPV texts. The PPV generator can greet him by his real name and frame the price for his buyer type, or write a neutral version for a mass message.
- A clean history. The chat history in the Inbox shows the real conversation without the PPV offers cluttering it, while the AI still knows about them.
You can re-read a fan's complete history at any time with Scan fan (full history), edit his profile by hand, or delete it permanently under Edit profile. Content Flow never sends a PPV or any other message itself. It drafts, you decide and press send.
What it does not do
PPV tracking in Content Flow currently works on OnlyFans only, because it reads data from the OnlyFans page. On Fansly you can keep your own notes and tags per fan in the Fans tab. It also does not replace your OnlyFans statements for accounting: use those for taxes and payouts.
Turning tracking into better offers
Tracking only pays off if it changes the next message. A few patterns we see work well:
- Never resend owned content. If the vault mark is green, offer something new or a continuation instead ("you loved the red set, the next one is even better").
- Re-pitch what he skipped, once. A red mark is not a no forever. Reframe it with a reason to buy now, a smaller price or a bundle, and if he skips again, drop the topic for him.
- Price to his history. Start new offers inside the range he already buys at, then step up slowly. Our PPV guide has a full pricing ladder.
- Thank buyers. A short, personal thank-you after an unlock costs nothing and makes the next offer feel less like a sales pitch.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see on OnlyFans which fan bought which PPV?
As far as we know, OnlyFans does not offer a quick per-fan overview of everything a fan bought and skipped while you are in the chat. You either note it yourself or use a tool that reads the chat for you.
Does Content Flow send PPV messages automatically?
No. Content Flow drafts PPV texts and replies and places them in the chat box. You choose the content, set the price in OnlyFans and press send yourself.
Does PPV tracking work on Fansly?
Not automatically. The automatic fan profiles, PPV stats and vault marks are OnlyFans-only. On Fansly you can keep notes and tags per fan in the Fans tab.
Where is the fan data stored?
Fan profiles are stored in the EU (Frankfurt) and linked to your license. You can edit or permanently delete any fan profile in the extension.
